Governance Committee Evaluation

Governance is the most influential standing committee of the board of directors. The primary purpose of this committee is to recruit new board members and ensure that board members are prepared to carry out their responsibilities on the board. Additionally, the committee, among other things, is responsible for oversight of succession planning, executive compensation, orientation and continuing education of board members, and ensuring the board engages in annual board evaluations.

    CBE’s Governance Committee Assessment covers critical areas of the Committee's functions in a comprehensive questionnaire where each member is asked to rate the Committee on a ten-point scale.
  • Share opinions

    The remaining questions are open-ended questions where the committee members can freely share their opinion on the overall functioning of the Committee.
  • Results

    The result of the survey is a high-value, written report that gives the Governance Committee the opportunity to assess its performance, examine compliance and assay critical committee functions.
  • Reports

    The report is presented to the Governance Committee Chair and shared with a Board designated representative.
