Nick Purrington founded the firm Purrington Moody Weil LLP in April of 2000. Nick's practice focuses on investment fund formation and representation, including the structuring of fund managers. Nick is also CBE's Corporate Secretary.
Nick began his career in the Capital Markets group of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, in New York, New York. At Milbank, Nick focused on the firm's investment fund formation practice and worked on numerous public and private securities offerings. In July 1998, Nick left Milbank to relocate to North Carolina, his home state, where he joined Schell Bray Aycock Abel & Livingston in Greensboro. At Schell Bray, Nick continued to focus on public and private securities law transactions and worked on several M&A transactions.
Nick was graduated from Princeton University, where he received an A.B. in politics and participated in the Russian Studies program. He received his law degree from Georgetown University, where he was a Ford Foundation scholar and graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. Nick is a partner in our North Carolina office and is a member of the state bars of North Carolina and New York.
